SPORTS AND ARTS CENTER
American School of Tampico (ATS) is creating a Sports and Arts Center that will inspire passion, pride and spirit for 950+ students attending ATS each year. We believe that by providing a multi-purpose functional space that will stage numerous activities from basketball, volleyball, art classes to music events, we will enrich the lives of our students, giving them something to root for and become further united. This 6,500 sq. m. facility will include a theater with a 1,200 sq. m. stage and 460 seat capacity, a gym 1,100 sq. m. with seat and court capacity of 1,520, and a 4,200 sq. m. dedicated to music classes.
The Sports and Arts Center will be more than a facility, it will give students of all ages an environment that fosters the many benefits that come with having arts and sports in schools. Arts are known to improve motor skills, language development, visual learning, inventiveness and cultural awareness. Sports have been shown to teach teamwork and problem solving skills, improve physical health while boosting self-esteem. Both the arts and sports improve academic performance and decision making.
The Sports and Arts Center will foster education, sports, cultural and artistic activities in our current students and future generations.
