The mission of the National Honor Society is to create enthusiasm for scholarship, stimulate a desire to render service, promote worthy leadership, and encourage the development of character in all students at The American School of Tampico. The officers of the chapter shall be president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, historian, and publicist. Eligible candidates for selection must be members of the sophomore, junior, or senior class, must have been enrolled for the entire school year immediately preceding the selection, and must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 90 on a 100-point scale. Section members who are seniors in good standing shall be granted the privilege of wearing a yellow stole and pin on their graduation gown.
