Admissions for the 2024-2025 school year are now open. Join our ATS family and let your child's educational adventure begin.

APPLICATION PROCESS 24-25

  1. Fill out the admission exam application form:
  2. The following documents need to be submitted in order to take the admission exam:

  • Passport-sized or ID photo
  • Updated birth certificate (original and copy)
  • Updated CURP (Unique Population Registry Code) in color (for the applicant, father, and mother)
  • Copies of the vaccination record (only for Pre-School)
  • Copy of COVID vaccination certificate (if available)
  • Report cards, academic reports, and/or informal report from the teacher
  • Proof of current SEP (Secretary of Public Education) school grade being attended, with the kindergarten's identification code
  • Two recommendation letters from parents of students at our school (non-relatives)
  • If coming from abroad, bring original report cards with official seal and signed by the Principal
  • FM3 immigration papers (for foreigners only). This document must be renewed each school year, and a copy of the extension must be provided to the secretary of your section..
  • Once we receive the documentation and set an exam date, pay the admission exam fee (800 pesos) at the Administrative Office's cashier before the exam and present the receipt at your section's Office.

  • Papeles de inmigración FM3 (para extranjeros solamente). Deberán renovar este documento cada ciclo escolar y entregar copia de la prórroga a la secretaria de su sección.
  • Una vez que hayamos recibido la documentación y establecido una fecha para el examen, paga la cuota del examen de admisión (800 pesos) en la caja de la Oficina Administrativa antes del examen y presenta el recibo en la Oficina de tu sección.

  • It is a prerequisite to be under 18 years old and/or have documents not older than two previous school cycles to enroll in 10th and 11th grade (high school).
  • In order to be eligible for graduation at ATS in G12, students are required to complete a minimum of two years of academic enrollment (11&12).

ONCE THE APPLICATION IS COMPLETE:

  1. The admission exam date will be set after submitting the required documents.
  2. Pay the admission exam fee (800 pesos) at the Administrative Office's cashier before the exam and present the receipt at your section's Office.
  3. Take the admission exam.
  4. The results will be available approximately three business days after the exam. The admissions department will contact you to provide the results.
  5. If the student passes the exam an appointment with the Director of the respective section will be scheduled to welcome you. Please attend.
  6. The Admissions Department and The American School of Tampico reserve the right to modify the admissions process at any time without prior notice.

RE-ADMISSION

Our Re-admissions section is designed to provide you with all the necessary information to seamlessly reintegrate your family into the ATS system. Whether your child has taken a different educational journey or you're seeking to return to the familiar, our doors are open, and our hearts are ready to welcome you back.

The following requirements of the corresponding grade level are needed to begin the process. In addition, Academic performance, attendance and behavior history during ATS and outside ATS will be considered.

  1. Re-Admission Application
    • Application Form: Interested individuals must complete a re-admission application form, including personal details, last grade attended, reason for leaving, and reason for wishing to re-enroll.
    • Documentation needed: transcripts, standardized tests results (SAT, MAP..) , SEP revalidation payment receipt etc.
    • Please deliver the following recommendation forms to the indicated persons for completion, which should be sent directly from the previous school to our admissions department.

    • Submission Deadline: By February 19th, 2024.
  2. Review of Academic History
    • Examination of Records: Review the academic and behavioral history of the student during their previous period at the institution.
    • Evaluation Criteria: minimum grade average 8, attendance, and discipline
  3. Personal Interview and Placement Exam
    • Schedule Interview: The Principal and Counselor with the student and, if they are a minor, with their parents or guardians.
    • Interview Goals: Understand the reasons for the student’s wish to re-enroll and assess their commitment and readiness to adapt to the school's norms and academic demands.
    • Placement Exams: If the student has been away from the institution for an extended period 6+ months , placement exams may be necessary to ensure success in order to rejoin at the appropriate educational level.
  4. Re-Admission Decision
    • Admissions Committee: Admissions & corresponding administrator will review the applications, exams and make the final decision based on established criteria.
    • Notification: Admissions will inform the academic section of the decision made.
    • Notification to students and parents or guardians about the decision will be given by the Admission department.: If students are accepted on probation or don't have the necessary documents they will need to sign a letter and/or next steps.
  5. Reintegration Process
    • Orientation: The academic section will provide an orientation session to update the student on any changes or new developments at the institution.
    • Academic Plan: Establish an academic plan that may include additional support if necessary.
  6. Follow-Up
    • Performance Monitoring: Conduct follow-up on the student’s performance and adaptation during the initial months after reintegration.

Se necesitan los siguientes requisitos del nivel de grado correspondiente para comenzar el proceso. Además, se considerará el rendimiento académico, la asistencia y el historial de comportamiento durante y fuera del ATS.

  1. Solicitud de Reingreso
    • Formulario de Solicitud: Las personas interesadas deben completar un formulario de solicitud de reingreso, incluyendo detalles personales, último grado cursado, motivo de la salida y motivo por el deseo de reinscribirse.
    • Documentación necesaria: historiales académicos, resultados de pruebas estandarizadas (SAT, MAP, etc.), recibo de pago de revalidación de la SEP, etc.
    • Favor de entregar los siguientes formatos de recomendación a las personas indicadas para su llenado, los cuales deberán ser enviados directamente desde la escuela de procedencia a nuestro departamento de admisiones.

    • Fecha Límite de Entrega: Para el 19 de febrero de 2024.
  2. Revisión del Historial Académico
    • Examen de Registros: Revisar el historial académico y de comportamiento del estudiante durante su período anterior en la institución.
    • Criterios de Evaluación: promedio mínimo de calificaciones de 8, asistencia y disciplina.
  3. Entrevista Personal y Examen de Ubicación
    • Programación de la Entrevista: El Director y el Consejero con el estudiante y, si es menor de edad, con sus padres o tutores.
    • Objetivos de la Entrevista: Entender las razones por las cuales el estudiante desea volver a inscribirse y evaluar su compromiso y disposición para adaptarse a las normas y demandas académicas de la escuela.
    • Exámenes de Ubicación: Si el estudiante ha estado fuera de la institución por un período extendido de 6+ meses, pueden ser necesarios exámenes de ubicación para asegurar el éxito a fin de reincorporarse al nivel educativo apropiado.
  4. Decisión de Reingreso
    • Comité de Admisiones: Admisiones y el administrador correspondiente revisarán las solicitudes, exámenes y tomarán la decisión final basada en los criterios establecidos.
    • Notificación: Admisiones informará a la sección académica de la decisión tomada.
    • Notificación a los estudiantes y a los padres o tutores sobre la decisión será dada por el departamento de Admisiones: Si los estudiantes son aceptados bajo condición o no tienen los documentos necesarios, necesitarán firmar una carta y/o seguir los próximos pasos.
  5. Proceso de Reintegración
    • Orientación: La sección académica proporcionará una sesión de orientación para actualizar al estudiante sobre cualquier cambio o novedad en la institución.
    • Plan Académico: Establecer un plan académico que pueda incluir apoyo adicional si es necesario.
  6. Seguimiento
    • Monitoreo de Desempeño: Realizar un seguimiento del desempeño y adaptación del estudiante durante los primeros meses después de la reintegración.
